Patti Shull

Patti Shull’s husband received a phone call that every loved one dreads: “Mr. Shull, we’re taking your wife to the Trauma Center. There’s been an accident.” Patti had rolled her car while taking a business call related to her high stakes sales and marketing job. An award winning salesperson who consistently exceeded sales objectives year after year after year, she suddenly found herself in a situation unlike anything she’d ever experienced before. She now looks back at those months in a neck brace and rehabilitation as an opportunity – one that gave her the chance to re-evaluate those things that really mattered in life. She and her husband decided then that they would jumpstart their retirement.

“Up to this point, my life had been my job – 24/7,” says Patti. “After the accident, we asked ourselves what the point was in waiting to enjoy those things that we’d been working toward. ‘Now’ was the best time to make a move, and so we did.”

The Shulls visited key resort areas around the South. One of those trips took them through the scenic mountains and lakes of Upstate South Carolina. They knew that they had stumbled on something special, and that it would be the place they called home.

After carefully considering the communities in the area and what they offered that complemented their lifestyle, goals and dreams, they eventually built in The Reserve – a quiet, exclusive resort community on Lake Keowee. The Shulls haven’t looked back, and they couldn’t be happier. Life is indeed good.

Patti’s love for this area, combined with her years of experience in relationship building, makes her a perfect fit for the sales team at Carolina Living Realty. “Lake Keowee really is the best-kept real estate secret around,” she says. Its unspoiled beauty offers a sense of permanence and almost mystical charm. I find that resort properties here show themselves.”
